Terms of Service

As part of providing psychological assessment and treatment services, Touch The Sky Psychology need to collect and record personal and sensitive information from clients. This information is necessary to provide psychological assessment and treatment services, and ensures the services provided are appropriate and supportive.

Purpose of collecting and holding information

Personal and sensitive information is collected when services are provided, is kept securely, and, in the interest of client's privacy, used only by the psychologist and authorised personnel of the practice (as necessary). Information is held in order to document what happens during sessions, and enables the psychologist to provide a relevant and informed psychological service to clients.

A more detailed description is provided in the practice's Privacy Policy, which contains information about how to access and seek correction of personal and sensitive information, and how to lodge a complaint about our management of personal and sensitive information.

Consequence of not providing your personal information

If you do not wish for your personal and sensitive information to be collected in any way anticipated by the Privacy Policy, or the information you provide is incomplete or inaccurate, Touch The Sky Psychology may not able to provide you with the services you seek. In some cases, you may request to be anonymous or to use a pseudonym, unless it is impracticable for Touch The Sky Psychology to deal with you, or if it is required or authorised by law to deal with identified individuals.

Access to client information

At any stage, clients may request to see and/or correct the information kept on file, subject to the exceptions in privacy laws. Further information about accessing information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclosure of personal information

An explanation of the limits to confidentiality, and when personal information may be disclosed is detailed in Touch The Sky Psychology's Privacy Policy.

Telehealth

To access Telehealth, you will need access to a quiet, private space and an appropriate device (such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, with a camera, microphone, and speakers), as well as a reliable internet connection.

It is important that you are engaged in your session and free of distractions to get the most out of your Telehealth sessions. Should you be unable to concentrate and participate effectively at the time of your appointment, the psychologist will speak with you and discuss whether the session should end or be rescheduled.

 

Sessions are not recorded, and we ask that you do not record sessions for your privacy and confidentiality.

Please note that under no circumstances will your session go ahead if you are driving.

Fees

Fees for services Touch The Sky Psychology provide vary depending on the exact service being requested and provided. This will be discussed and agreed upon before and/or during your initial interview appointment.

For counselling and assessment appointments you and/or your child/adolescent attend, fees are payable on the day of your appointment. For assessment 'appointments' that do not require your attendance (e.g., a questionnaire sent electronically to you and/or your child/adolescent's teacher) and report writing, payment is required before the assessment and report writing takes place.

The fee you will be charged will vary depending on the type of appointment/assessment (e.g., initial interview appointment, counselling appointment, cognitive assessment, academic assessment, etc.). We will discuss the payments process during your initial interview appointment.

Payments will be processed through our practice management software (Halaxy). Unpaid invoices may incur a late payment fee.

For assessments, please note that all fees must be paid before your feedback appointment for it to go ahead and the report to be released to you.

Prices are subject to change at the start of each calendar and/or financial year.

Cancellation Policy

We require 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If between 24 and 48 hours' notice is given, you will be charged 50% of the appointment fee. Cancellations and rescheduled appointments within 24 hours will incur the full appointment fee.

APS Charter for Clients of Psychologists

The APS Charter for Clients of Psychologists explains the rights of the client. It will be emailed to you as part of the intake process.

Concerns, disputes or disagreements

Clients are asked to communicate openly but respectfully when they have concerns. Psychologists at Touch The Sky Psychology will listen to clients, and ask that clients also listen open-mindedly. Should this not resolve the issue, we request that written communication directed to the psychologist/s via email is provided respectfully, and in an honest and professional manner. If concerns are substantial and have not been resolved after multiple attempts to communicate, we ask that clients inform us in writing should they wish to take the matter further.

Accepting these terms and conditions

When clients book an appointment, they are agreeing to these terms and conditions. Clients will be asked to sign consent forms prior to their initial interview appointment to formalise this process. If the consent form has not been signed, it will be discussed and signed during the initial interview appointment.
